Organic farming inspires the use of crop residue, animal manure including farm waste thereby excluding the synthetic inputs such as chemical fertilizers. The todays agriculture scenario which is accompanied by decline in crop yield day by day despite maximum chemical inputs. The various sides of usage of chemicals in farming which has led to poor soil quality as well as reoccurring pests and disease infestation has been exposed, it is also to be noted that the excess utilization of pesticide and chemicals has led to introduction of harmful chemicals as well as compounds to soil which has affected the food chain as well as caused several health implications to man. India is seventh largest country in terms to occupy agriculture land, diversity in climate as well as with land tradition of farming. The aim of this research is to study the basis of organic farming and to analyze the challenges faced by Indian Agriculture System.
