Health is one of the global challenges in day-to- day life. In the last few decades the health monitoring of patients has drawn considerable amount of attention. The prime goal is to develop a reliable patient monitoring system so that the healthcare professionals can monitor the patients, who are either hospitalized or executing their normal daily life activities. Hence Internet of things (IoT) serves as a catalyst for the healthcare and plays prominent role in wide range of healthcare applications. The Atmega328 microcontroller is interfaced with non-invasive sensors such as heart beat, body temperature and body position sensors. The biomedical data from the sensors are transmitted to the server (Thingspeak.com).The "Thingspeak" named new cloud is utilized here to place the detected information into the server. From this server the information can be envisioned to the specialists and other paramedical staff by Thingspeak website or app. In case of emergency, an alert message is sent to the doctor and the patient’s relatives through the GSM module. Hence this system improves the operating efficiency, lessens the time and cost of support.
