Title

Numerical analysis of shell and tube heat exchanger using nanofluids.

Abstract

Shell and tube heat exchangers are the most common types of heat exchangers used in many industrial applications. A shell and tube heat exchanger with 30 tubes of 11.43mm diameter with overall shell diameter and length 622mm is considered in the present study to investigate heat transfer enhancement using graphene with water and water and gumarabic as a base fluid respectively. However only half section of the heat exchanger is simulated in 3D CFD Ansys CFX software to reduce computational time. Graphene nanofluids could enhance heat transfer only by 15%, 15.8% & 17.1% for 3%, 4% & 5% .
