Abstract

Knoevenagel condensation have numerous applications in the elegant synthesis of fine chemicals.Several ,-unsaturated alkenes have been prepared by this method using aldehydes and active methylene compounds (malonic acid, diethylmalonate, ethylcyanoacetate, methylacetoacetate and ethylacetoacetate).

Key Words

Ammonium chloride, microwaves, solvent-free, active methylene compounds.
