Title

Performance and Emission Characteristics of Compression Ignition Engine Operated with Biodiesel Blends Derived from Waste Material

Abstract

Every country has special features of energy sources and demand of energy varies country to country. These parameters depend upon lifestyles and livelihood of the native of that country. Some of the energy resources are coal, fossil fuels, natural gas, wind energy etc. India is a developing country and population is growing fast. Due to fast growing population need for energy is also increasing. In this regard it is very much essential that we need to find other renewable sources of energy which could be replacement of petroleum fuels. In the present study biodiesel produced from sewage slug is used as replacement of petroleum fuels. This biodiesel is blended with mineral diesel in different proportions and tested in a diesel engine. The results obtained were compared with those of base fuel and analyzed. The different parameters such as BTE, EGT, CO and HC emissions were found out.
