Title

BEAM FORMING TECHNIQUES FOR MASSIVE MIMO SYTEMS IN 5G

Abstract

Research on applications of beamforming has been an interesting subject over past 40 years contributing to the invention of adaptive beamforming method consideration. In 5G and other modern wireless communication systems, they extensively use Multi Input Multi Output beamforming technology for signal to noise ratio enhancement and spatial multiplexing to improve the data throughput in scattered rich environments. In a scattered-rich environment, there may not exist line of sight paths between the transmitter and receiver antennas. To gain the high throughput, Multi Input Multi Output beamforming implements pre-coding on the transmitter side and combining on the receiver side to increase Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and separate spatial channels. The paper presents a Hybrid Multi Input Multi Output beamforming with investigation of two hybrid beamforming algorithms i.e. Quantized Sparse Hybrid Beamforming and Hybrid Beamforming with Peak Search.
