Title

STRENGTH CHARACTERISTICS OF FLYASH BASED FRC WITH SELF HEALING AGENT

Abstract

Concrete is the most critical element applied in public infrastructure or buildings and requires lengthy service periods and high performance. The objective of this project is to reduce the cost of project, reduce heat of hydration indirectly, to improve tensile properties, to control cracks and to improve compressive strength. So, in this project in addition to convention materials, we are using fibres, fly ash and self healing agent. By using fibres in concrete improves toughness and tensile properties of concrete and help to control cracking. In many situations it is prudent to combine fibre reinforcement with conventional steel reinforcement to improve performance. Fly ash is used to lower the cost and to improve the performance of PCC. Typically, 5 to 30% of Portland cement is replaced with fly ash. The potential of bacteria to acts as a self healing in concrete is to be investigated. In which bacteria is mixed in concrete to increase the compressive strength of the concrete.
