Holography has undergone a significant evolution from its classical roots to the present-day digitized 3D version. Holograms originally displayed their application potential as security marks. printed on credit cards and currency. Holograms are virtual 3D images overlaid in a realistic environment and hence are applied as devices in the field of augmented reality. Holograms have started finding exciting applications in the areas of product demonstrations, conference/meeting rooms, design, training, gaming and medicine. A true hologram image is three dimensional, movable and visible to everyone without the aid of special wearable gear and also interactable. With ever advancing technology, holograms have exciting application future particularly if they are made available at reasonable cost.
