In India, earthquakes are common due to which almost every building has to be designed as per the codal provisions of seismic code i.e. IS: 1893. As the present study is carried out on RCC framed irregular structures, T- shaped 13 storey and 20 Storey buildings were prepared in the analyzing and designing software Staad.Pro as per IS: 1893-2002 and IS: 1893-2016. While considering the plan irregularity and mass irregularity. Modeling a building involves the modeling and assemblage of its various load-carrying elements. Variation was seen in the results of building designed with IS: 1893-2002 (old seismic code) and IS: 1893-2016 (new seismic code). From the results it has been concluded that the forces and moments in beams of 13 storey Building and 20 storey building have been increased approximately 30 % and 15 % respectively whereas, the lateral sway i.e. displacement of the columns has been increased up to 22 % when the structures are designed as per new code instead of old code.
