Abstract: In the current scenario waste management is the matter of concern when talk about sustainable environment and healthy community. Competent management of any waste is necessary. Households are one of the dynamic units of the community and so are the waste generated by them. Households produce substantial amount of waste in the community and its really important to know that how this waste is managed by people. Management of waste at home is very much dependent on knowledge and attitude of the homemaker and this reflects in their practices related to management of their household waste. The current study was conducted with the aim to synthesize literature in the relevant field of study and to identify research gaps in the related field.
