Title “A CLINICAL STUDY OF APAMARGAKSHARA TAILA KARANPOORANA AND GHRITS PAANA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF KARNA NAAD W.S.R. TO TINNITUS” Phase Phase I Methodology Open clinical trial Study Duration 3 years Study Center B.V.U. Ayurved Hospital, Shalakya Tantra O.P.D. and I.P.D. Pune. Aim and Objectives AIM:- “To study the efficacy of ‘Apamargkshar Tail Karnapoorana’ in ‘Karan naad’”. OBJECTIVES:- 1) Clinical evaluation of Karnapoorana of Apamargakshar Tail & Ghrita Paana on Karna naad. 2) To develop evidence based support for effect of Apamargkshar tail & Ghrita Paana in Karan naad as mentioned in our ancient literature and also to analyze the observations and to find the significance of the drug action. 3) To establish the role of Ayurvedic line of treatment according to etiopathology of Karan naad. Number of Subjects 60 subjects Diagnosis and Inclusion Criteria Exclusion Criteria Diagnosis: KARAN NAAD (TINNITUS) Inclusion criteria: - Karan naad Vyadhi patient with. 1. Patients presenting with symptoms of Karan naad irrespective of gender, caste and religion. 2. Patients in the age group of 25 to 75 years with intact Tympanic Membrane. Exclusion criteria: -  Congenital Deformity. (related to ear)  Perforation of tympanic membrane.  Patient of Otosclerosis and fluid in the middle ear.  Blockage due to stenosis of external auditory canal/wax.  Pregnant, immune compromised patients.  Tinnitus due to non Otologic factors (Diabetes mellitus, Hypertension, Thyroid disease etc.) and glomus tumors, aneurysm of carotid artery, palatal myoclonus and tumors of auditory nerve.  Patients not willing to be registered for the trial.  Cases which required surgical intervention. Study Product, Dose, Route, Regimen Apamargkshar Tail, 2ml each ear two Time Karnapoorna 300 Matra Uccharan Kaal (10Min.) & Goghrita paana every day 10gm 2 times in day with Ushna Jala. Duration 2 months (60 Days) Follow up 1 month Statistical Methodology Paired t test , Wilcoxon test
