Title

Optical properties of Co2+ substituted BaFe12O19 hexaferrite nanoparticles via sol-gel auto-combustion route

Abstract

This paper presents investigations on structural, optical, magnetic and dielectric properties of technologically important Co2+ substituted BaFe12O19 ferrite nanoparticles prepared by sol-gel auto-combustion technique. The structural properties were investigated by using X-ray diffraction technique. Diffuse Ray spectroscopy technique for optical data measurement is discussed. The compositional dependence of the electrical properties of the substituted barium hexaferrite was investigated by DC electrical resistivity and Dielectric measurements. The dielectric behavior obeys the Maxwell-Wagner polarization in accordance with Koops phenomenological theory. The good electric resistivity associated with high dielectric constant and dielectric loss qualifies the ceramics for high frequency applications.
