Title

Fostering Global Collaboration in AI: A Wi-Fi-Enabled, Recommendation System

Abstract

International collaboration has been increasing over time in the area of AI research as there is a really enlarged scope in which vast knowledge bases have to be advanced; thus, it represents quality in a research work to take on and eradicate problems all over the globe. In women researchers, distance, lack of resources, and gender-based disparities may be barriers experienced when accomplishing full potential in doing collaborative research. This paper is a conceptual review, proposing a novel solution: a Wi-Fi-enabled, collaborative filtering-based recommendation system to create links among women researchers with similar research interests in AI for international collaboration and knowledge sharing. Using the concept of collaborative filtering, it would be able to identify systematically and recommend other users with a similar research interest, expertise, and intended goals. That is an innovative layer with the addition of Wi-Fi-enabled features by using already existing wireless networks to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration without requiring expensive infrastructure. Some merits, challenges, and implications of a system such as this would be discussed, coupled with how it might just bridge barriers of distance and lack of visibility as a way to make some voice heard. It goes further to examine how this system can be able to provide more possibilities for mentorship, partnership, and mutually beneficial problem-solving among women in AI research around the world, thus creating a more dynamic and inclusive global research ecosystem. This paper does not pretend to present empirical data or even describe the implementation of the system but rather talks about conceptual ideas which may find venues for further development and research.
