Mechanical neck pain is defined as the neck pain of mechanical origin not attributable to a recognizable or a specific known pathology. Mechanical neck pain is pervasive and an increased prevalence is found among the subjects who have presented at the outpatient department. Hence several researchers and clinicians suggests that the goals of a rehabilitation program should include pain reduction, normalized range of motion and neuromuscular control as well as adequate strength and endurance of the cervical spine, in order to prevent the incidence of re-occurrence.The outcome measures of the pre-test and post-test evaluation were analysed using paired student t-Test which showed significant improvement. The phases of training deep neck stabilizers, training muscle imbalance and scapular stabilizers, posture and thoracic mobility training and re-training the sensory-motor response were successfully incorporated. This multimodal approach for subjects with mechanical neck pain proved to be effective in improving their functional activities.
