Ant Colony Optimization: A naturalistic approach which has been a hot topic of research from the past decade. It is a probabilistic technique which has shown impressive results in solving computational problems, by reducing the problem size in order to find the most advantageous solution. ACO is used in innumerable problems; the discipline of software testing is amongst those. The paper puts forward a detailed evaluation of forty manuscripts, which focus on applying ACO algorithm in a variety of problems related to software testing. As per the analysis, ACO proves its effectiveness in the field of software testing.
