Title

IoT Based Refrigerator for Monitoring Stored Food Materials

Abstract

Refrigerator is the most common electrical appliance in the kitchen used for storage of food and to maintain the freshness of the items kept inside the refrigerator. A simple refrigerator can be customized to a smart cost-effective machine using a IoT based refrigerator module which consist of sensors like load cell, gas sensor, temperature sensors, etc. Iot based refrigerator focus at the status of the nourishment of food for e.g. weight, quantity, quality, freshness, etc. IoT based refrigerator is designed to sense the food products that are stored in it and notify to the user when the products are scarce. The IoT based refrigerator is capable of keeping track of ON/OFF control of the refrigerator and intimate the user about food items that are scarce through wifi connection (internet) on user’s mobile android application. The basic function of the IoT based refrigerator is that with less effort, it is able to maintain the food items which allows an individual to purchase when items are unavailable. As a result, the user is notified all the time whenever there is no food items available in the refrigerator The importance of this work will be to remove rotten food items, reduce sickness and to maintain a healthier lifestyle without putting any extra effort and time.
