Title

STATIC AND DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF HIGH-RISE STRUCTURES WITH VARIOUS STRUCTURAL CONFIGURATIONS

Abstract

Early tall buildings contained offices. The type writer, telephone and US universal postal system also appeared in this decade, and they revolutionized office work and enabled administration to be concentrated in individual high-rise buildings within a city’s business district. Changes in urban life also encouraged the switch to taller, higher- density facilities. Street trams, subways and elevated rail links provided the means to deliver hundreds of workers to a single urban location, decades before the European motor car appeared on American streets and reshaped urban form away from the city grid. Strictly Speaking any building having more than one floor is a Multi Storied Building and a building to which provision of lift is essential is Tall building. Various nomenclatures used for tall buildings are high rise buildings, sky scrapers, vertigoes, anthills, concrete castles etc. In the present Study, A 40 storey building is to be considered. The different structural configurations in the buildings are modelling such as bare frame model, bracings, outriggers, outrigger with bare frame, outrigger with belt truss. The modelling part is carried out later by using E TABS software. The Equivalent static and dynamic analysis are carried out for different zone and soil conditions. The analysis is done and results are tabulated.

Key Words

Equivalent static analysis, Time history analysis, modal analysis.
