Cyber crime is defined as a crime where a computer is the object of the crime or is used as a tool to commit an offense. A cyber criminal may use a device to access a user’s personal information, confidential business information, government information, or disable a device. It is also a cyber crime to sell or elicit the above information online. There are common-sense steps that can prevent or reduce having one's financial information stolen online, as well as to avoid other scams and threats, but cyber crime in these areas persists largely due to a lack of consumer education. In this paper the concept of cyber crime and it its various types have been studied. Finally, it concluded with various techniques to be used to prevent from cyber attacks.
