Title

Design and Optimization of Lower Control Arm Using Vibration Analysis

Abstract

The lower control arm is a sovereign suspension employed in vehicles. During the normal working condition, the farthest load is moved from upper arm to the lower control arm which might be fail. Hence improvement in current design is necessary concerning stress factor, where it plays vital role in suspension system of vehicle, thus this arm deals with various movements of wheel. In present research computer added design of lower control arm is performed in CATIA software and FEA approach has been analyzed in ANSYS 19 software to perform and determine the structural strength and natural frequency with mode shape of both existing and optimized lower control arm and validated consequent results with FFT technique as far as natural frequency concern. The target for weight reduction pf control arm was 8% weight existing part which made-up using steel material.
