Abstract

This study investigates the translation of the Malayalam writer Basheer’s short story “Mucheettu Kalikkarante Makal” by K. M Sheriff. A comparative reading of Malayalam and English text will be done in order to understand the similarities and the differences between the two. My focus is to study how far the translated text is faithful to the original.
