It is rare that ordinary people come to light in the Indian political system. It is very rare for people to become a leader in a system. Democracy is essential for all classes to have a good status. It is natural to guess the need for good leaders to have a better system. It is common for people to feel the hope of a good leader in the democratic system and to expect a confidence. A leader in a democracy can create a feeling of hope and confidence in the people. The leadership has the most responsibility of initiating, a conscious programmer of social change. The targets of social and political change are to be reached by it. The generation of politicians who brought freedom to India included a number of persons who were deeply steeped in culture. They were poets, novelists, historians, philosophers, jurists and connoisseurs of music and art, while being engaged in the toils of nation-building. Today the word politician, more often than not, conjures up the picture of a rather coarse go-getter, for whom power is all, no matter how it is gained and retained. We, always find today in India, leaders lacking the spirit of devotion and dedication to the people. Because, party politics is such, it does not allow anyone to become leaders of the masses because, party is a machine of which leader is a nut and bolt of it. Such party leadership has been proved as a bottleneck to many people to emerge as leaders of the masses.
