REVISITING MORALITY TO ADDRESS VALUE CRISIS IN A CAPITALIST SOCIETY
Abstract
Today we live in a world where everything has to be purchased. They are the commodities that help us survive. Being commodity they have both use value and exchange value. Karl Marx has explained how the exchange value starts dominating over the use value in a capitalist society. Ultimately that gives rise to commodity fetishism and alienation. An attempt has been made in this paper to explore the possibility of coping with such a situation of value crisis with the help of the ideas upheld by Care ethics.
