Title

'PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED BY STUDENT TEACHERS DURING THE B.ED. COURSE'

Abstract

The present research paper is concerned to the problems encountered by the student during the B.Ed. course. There are many problems that are been faced by student teachers during the entire course such as health problems, family problems, personal problems, educational problems and financial problems. The course structure of the B.Ed. programme offers a comprehensive coverage of themes and rigorous field engagement with the child, school and community. In the present study the investigator made an attempt to study the problems faced by the pupil- teacher during B.Ed. programme in Mumbai district Maharashtra. 200 Pupil-teachers were taken from both government sponsored and self-financed B.Ed. college affiliated to University of Mumbai i.e. (100 pupil-teachers from government sponsored and 100 from self-financed B.Ed. college were taken). Self-made Questionnaire was used for collecting the data and descriptive method for interpretation was used. This study revealed that pupil-teachers face many problems during the B.Ed. course. The Teacher Educators must be considerate enough to understand these problems and provide them with counseling services from time to time.
