ABSTRACT According to the World Health Organization viewpoint, social well-being is an important dimension of health along with physical and mental aspects. Evaluation of social well-being is necessary in students, especially college going girl students due to future responsibility. Objective: To compare the status of social wellbeing of college going girl students of West Bengal, India categorized into three groups on the basis of different educational characteristics. Method: Study area: Dr. Bhupendra Nath Dutta Smriti Mahavidyalaya, Purba Burdwan, West Bengal, India. Subject: 45 girl students belonging to three different groups, namely college girl students without physical education subject (Group A =15), college girl students with physical education subject (Group B=15), college girl students those who are regular basis player along with physical education subject (Group C=15) ranging the age between 18-21 years served as subjects of the study. Criterion measure: To obtain data for social wellbeing standard questionnaire retrieved by Corey Lee .M. Keyes (2012) were used. As a statistical tool descriptive statistics and one way ANOVA were used. The result of the study revealed that the state of social wellbeing of Group C and Group B are significantly better than Group A. (p>0.05)
