In view of the fact that, India has struggled to supply its people with universal health exposure. Whether clear in terms of monetary protection or admittance and effective use of health care, the preponderance of Indians remains unevenly and incompletely covered. Hence, this research paper aims to identify the access to Health Care and the determinants among households dwelling in Chennai city. Researchers carried out in yesteryears have identified certain socio, economic and demographic factors among the notable determinants. Anderson's behavioural Model of Health Care utilisation is applied in the theoretical context of the study. The major objectives framed are to identify the determinants and their significance towards the awareness of health insurance policies. An empirical study is conducted using primary data collected from a sample of hundred households selected using a stratified sampling technique. OLS, Maximum likelihood Probit regressions are used.
