The present Research work has been carried out to evaluate various physico-chemical characteristics of Ahansar Lake (District Bandipora ) Kashmir . Water samples were collected monthly from two different sampling sites for a period of two years during 2018 -2020 . Correlation between certain parameters were made . Positive correlation between temperature and pH was recorded . Negative correlation between temperature and Oxygen , pH and carbon dioxide were obtained . Results revealed that the water of Ahansar lake is “ alkaliphilous” and “Calcium rich water” . Carbonates were absent due to continuous oxidation of organic matter . Conductivity values were >300 µS which indicate that the lake water is eutrophic .
