Title

Blast Loading and Its Effects on Building Using Steel Bracing

Abstract

The issue of detonation loading is increasing, terrorists are developing explosives with new technology, terrorists aim to lose more and more human life and economy. Due to the blast, not only the important structure, but the area around it will also be damaged. Civil engineers research new methods to secure structures. It is not possible to make all the structures blast-proof; it increases their construction cost which is not economical. In this research paper, 6 story RCC building has been taken in which the effect of the blast of an explosive of charge weight of 0.1 tons has been subjected. It was found in the study: It is explicable that the effect of the blast on Buildings also changes when the distance changes. Blast pressure wave parameters are obtained with the help of this: 4991-1968 code and for analysis of the effect of blast load, the software ETabs 2019 is used. The structure has been modified by providing Steel Bracing to reduce excessive displacement due to blast loading on the building. Comparison of analysis results after adding Steel Bracing with Normal building model. In which, after adding Steel Bracing, the effect of blast loading has been reduced.
