Insurance is a growing business in India with banking services adds about 8.2 percent to India’s GDP. The investments in insurance policies amount to about 85 percent of the total GDP of the Nation and is the fifth largest insurance market among the emerging economies with a yearly growth of 34-37%. Yet, there is a vast difference between insured population as compared to the insurable population, about three fourth of such population is not insured. There are prospects of growth of insurance industry in India for many reasons. However, greater spread and deepening of insurance in India would need reforms. This study analyzed the penetration and density patterns of life with non-life insurance using ANOVA. The results showing significant difference between penetration and density with life and non-life insurance sector and to there is a need to accelerate the growth and prospects of growth could be more viably recognized.
