Title

PSYCHOLOGICAL IMPACT OF COVID -19

Abstract

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, work schedule and conditions are changing remarkably, bringing new psychological tasks for the health and well-being of workers.Psychological impact during the period of wild spread of the virus and strict isolation process still continueand increase over time.The psychological impacts in the form of low mood,low motivation, exhaustion, anxiety, depression, burnout and suicidal thoughts are prevailing across the globe. Physical impact and impact on work place activity are increasing.Workers may face higher anxiety and stress due to the physical working environment and equipment. They may experience stress in workload, work-paceand work-schedule.The risk of violence andharassment is likely to increase during this epidemic.Deterioration ofwork-life balance and occupation safety are bringing negative effects on their wellbeing and mental health.Employers and managers are facing difficult challenges in managing leadership. Misinformation, amplified communications leads to the need of training on symptoms and preventive measures.Negative coping behaviorswhich may affect both physical and mental health and have negative impact on job performance and productivity. People lost the societal support due to physical distancing and work from home increasing feelings of isolation andloneliness.In workplaces where adequate mentalcare is provided, workers experiencing work-related stress and other mental health problems are more likely to seek, and receive, appropriate help. This will help them to have a quicker recovery and more sustainable return to work.
