ABSTRACT It is a widely known fact that availability of infrastructural facilities in school has significant impact on school environment. The teaching-learning environment of a school depends upon the availability of necessary facilities to run the system properly. The National Education Policy 1986 advised the authorities in the area of school education in India to provide adequate physical facilities as per the needs of the schools. Further, Right to Education Act, 2009 has recommended to make every schools of the country properly equipped with all infrastructural facilities. During last three decades, the Government of India and all other State Governments attempted their best to improve the school environment by providing different facilities required for the teaching-learning process. Major emphasis on improvement of infrastructural facilities in schools has also given by the Government of Tripura. However, the situation is not satisfactory till today.
