Hydrazide ligands were synthesized by the reaction of acetohydrazide with 3, 5-dichloro-2-hydroxy acetophenone, 5-chloro-2-hydroxy acetophenone and 4, 5-dichloro-2-hydroxy acetophenone. The complexes of Cr (III) complexes were synthesized by chromium chloride with hydrazide ligand in mole ratio 1:2. The ligands and complexes were characterized by Elemental Analysis, ESI-MS, Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, electronic spectra, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1HNMR and 13CNMR), magnetism and conductivity measurement. The metal complexes and corresponding ligands were tested against bacterial parasites. It was found that the complexes synthesized showed biological activity than corresponding hydrazide ligands.
