In the recent era, there has been a massive development in the area of human-computer interaction. In this project, an approach for Human Computer Interaction has been implemented where we have tried to element the use of hardware mouse and control the mouse pointers by using hand gestures and color recognition. Hand gestures have been acquired with the help of a webcam based on color recognition technique. Motivated by the concept that we can interact with the computer system, we have tried to break the barriers of interaction between humans and computers by replacing the existing hardware with gestures. The aim is to move the mouse cursor on the screen without using hardware such as a mouse and only by moving the cursor through finger movements I.e. the process of gesture recognition. In the recent years, different technologies have been used for developing virtual mouse. The proposed technology in our project focuses majorly on three technologies: object detection, image processing and color recognition.
