Abstract
TheobjectiveofthestudywastoassesstheeffectivenessofPTP(plannedteaching programme)onwarningsignofpregnancyamongprimigravidamothers.Thedata collectionprocedurewascarriedoutinthemonthofOctoberandNovember2021. Thesample60primigravidamothersweretakenfromPHC,Chaudharywas,Hisar. DemographicVariablesforageatmarriage,age,education,occupation,religion, typesoffamily,dietarypattern,sourceofinformation.Thegathereddatawas analyzedbycalculatingthefrequency,mean,percentage,standarddeviation,t-test andchisquare.Thegraph,andtableswereusedtopresentthefindingsofthestudy. FindingsdepictsthatmajorityPrimigravidamothers46.7%ageatmarriagewas≤20 and53.3%was≥20.Primigravidamothers25%wereintheagegroupof≤20,40% wereintheagegroupof21-25,26.7%wereintheagegroupof26-30,and8.3%were intheagegroupof≥30.Regardstoeducation16.7%ofthemwereilliterate,18.3% werecompletedprimaryeducation,16.7%completedsecondaryeducation,21.7% completedhighersecondaryeducationand26.7%graduate.61.7%primigravida motherswerehousewife,16.7%labour,15%selfemploy,and6.7%govtemploy. Primigravidamothers76.7%werehindus,10% muslims,11.7%sikh,and1.67%
Christian.48.3%primigravidawerefromnuclearfamily,28.3%fromjointfamily,and 23.3%fromextendedfamily.40%werevegetarian,50%nonvegetarian,and10% eggetarian.43.3%oftheprimigravidamothersreceivedinformationfromfriendsand relative,16.7%frommassmediaand,15%fromhealthcarepersonneland25%from othersources.30%primigravidamothershadpreviousknowledgeaboutwarning signofpregnancyand70%havenotanypreviousknowledgeaboutwarningsignof pregnancy.Meanpost-testknowledgescoreofprimigravidamotherswere24.11 higherthantheMeanpre-testknowledgescore9.9andstandarddeviationof primigravidamotherswas4.40.Calculated‘t’valueforknowledgescoreof primigravidamotherswas34.96,foundtobestatisticallysignificantat0.05levelof significance.ItrevealsthatPTPwaseffectivetoenhancethelevelofknowledgeon warningsignofpregnancyamongprimigravidamothers.
