Title

Water pollution remediation capacity of schiff bases : A Comparative Study

Abstract

Water pollution is a major concer in the context of environmental changes taking place in the morden world. Remediation of organic pollutants from the waste water is one the main focus this study,which can be done by photo catalytic degradation. One of the possible method involves the preparation of Schiff base metal complexes Fe-SAP, Cu-SPA and Zn-salen which degrade the organic pollutants like Rhodamine B (RhB), salicylic acid (SA), sulforhodamine B (SRB), methylene blue (MB) and o-phenylenediamine (OPD) in water under visible irradiation at different pH levels from 3 to 11. Formation of reactive oxygen species 1O2, .OH and 1O2 takes place which shows a very high efficiency for the degradation of organic pollutants and treatment of the waste water.
