Title

Synthesis and Characterization of Europium Doped CdY2O4 Nanophosphors

Abstract

Trivalent europium doped yttriate nanophosphors were synthesized by using gel combustion technique. The photoluminescence (PL) properties of these Eu3+ activated CdY2O4 nanophosphors showed luminescence in red region and exhibited emission properties in their respective regions of color coordinates. The emission peaks were assigned based on the observed multiple emission peak wavelengths. The main peak in the emission spectra was ascribed to 5D0 →7F2 transition of Eu3+ ion. The structural and morphological studies were also performed by X-ray diffraction.
