Title

Design Of Programmable Under Voltage, Over Voltage And Over Current Protection

Abstract

This paper presents an accurate and economic ac voltage and current sensing method using voltage and current sensor. The purpose of this project is to trip the relay according to the variations in the supply voltage and current for protecting electronic equipment in case of over voltage, under voltage and over current. This system can immediately detect voltage and current faults and hence prevent the electronic equipment from damages. This project builds an intelligent circuit breaker based on Arduino and necessary sensors such that voltage and current sensor, the intelligent circuit breaker will monitor and control the protection of loads against over voltage, under voltage & over current In this paper, the Arduino acts as controlling unit and necessary circuit such that voltage sensor and current sensor are used to help the control unit to take the suitable decision during the short circuit condition or over loading automatically instead of the traditional way such manual circuit breaker. There are two major parts, which are the controlling, and the monitoring parts, the controlling part is responsible to make the whole system shutdown during short circuit. The monitoring part is responsible for monitoring input supply continuously to make the system stable and in range with the threshold values of voltage and current set by the user. Based on the output from voltage and current sensor Arduino board will decide the tripping of the relay, as voltage varies above or below the set value and over current condition.
