While learning languages, comprehending the meanings or words and phrases is as important as learning the sounds and the grammar of the language. Thus, one should be able to comprehend and distinguish between the different sense relations such as synonymy, antonymy, polysemy, hyponymy and meronymy. This in turn will help the leaner to acquire and shape their language acquisition as well as assist in forming an understanding in the integral part of learning a language. Out of all these sense relations, antonymy is one of the most interesting of them. In this paper, the different types of antonyms in A∙we will be discussed as presented by Cruse (1986) and Palmer (1982:94-100).
