Title

Corporate Governance Disclosure Practices-Evidence From India

Abstract

Presently, technology is mainspring of an economy. Pandemic has elevated the tempo of technology adoption extensively as enterprises are journeying towards virtual ambient. Even industries principally IT-demovitated or trivial reliance on IT now perceive the desideratum for further dexterous digital proposition. IT sector in India has appeared prominently in favoring India to precipitate inclusive dominance. Superb governance of the IT sector is, therefore, crucial since it has momentous societal importance and is zenith to the blossoming of the economy in essence. In India, the issue of corporate governance has tantalized mainly following globalization and liberalism of industry as well as the demand for new corporate ethics and stricter compliance with legislation. This paper on the strength of secondary data presents corporate governance reporting practices in Indian corporate IT sector included in BSE Sensex, Wipro Ltd for the year 2020-2021. The study unearths excellent corporate governance disclosure practices in the select company.The company meets mostly all mandatory requirements of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations,2015 and Clause-49. Yet, SEBI should take more stringent measures to arrest any fraud in business operation for the sake of stakeholders. Good legislation and veracious market environment demand methodical corporate governance disclosure.
