Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) security issue is to protect the network layer from malicious attacks, thereby identifying the malicious nodes and hence preventing malicious nodes. A unified security solution is need for such networks to protect both route and for the data forwarding operations in the network layer. On other hand the appropriate security solution, the malicious nodes in the network can readily mean to act as the function of routers to route the data. This will slowly disturbs the networks on operation from correct delivering and routing of the packets, like the malicious nodes can give stable routing updates or drop all the packets on passing through them. In this paper a study that will through light on such attacks in different layers is presented. The paper also focuses on different mode of security aspects on the network layer and discusses the effect of the attacks in brief.
