Title

TORQUE RIPPLE REDUCTION OF PMSM WITH NEURO FUZZY CONTROLLER FOR EV APPLIATIONS

Abstract

The development of batteries, electric motors and power electronics will surely lead to a greater influence of electric vehicles in the future, especially with the reduction in petroleum and emission limitations. The use of permanent magnet synchronous motors in vehicle propulsion systems is becoming more popular. PMSM pre-excitation may improve the efficiency and torque density of machines. Their inherent torque ripple could be difficult for electric vehicles due to low damping of torsional vibration which may affect passenger comfort. The goal of this study is to create a high-efficiency permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with low torque ripples and a high power density. The performance of proportional s integral (PI) controllers is influenced by parameter changes, load disturbances and speed variations due to their fixed proportional gain and integral time constant. With the help of the neuro-fuzzy controller, these issues can be solved. Due to cogging torque and torque ripple, PMSMs produce a lot of vibration and noise.
