Smart phones have come up in a big way, changing the way people transact and use internet. A lot of mobile applications are unable to run on these smart devices due to limited resources, like battery life, memory and computing power, etc. Mobile cloud computing comes as a relief to the rescue of the smartphone users and overcomes the various limitations of the mobile devices and improves the performance of the mobile applications. A number of solutions have been proposed to offload either all or only the computationally exhaustive module of the mobile applications from the mobile device to the mobile cloud for remote execution. This paper proposes a secure framework for mobile cloud computing. The framework offloads the computationally exhaustive tasks of the mobile applications or encrypted large data files containing sensitive data on to the mobile cloud. The encryption/decryption algorithm is chosen dynamically based on the predefined parameters like, memory and CPU utilization, running time and energy consumption by the algorithms. The framework uses an optimization model that takes the decision for offloading.
