With the continuous increase in the urban population, the number of vehicles is also increasing rapidly, because of that traffic situations are also getting worst. Mitigating traffic situations is no less than a challenge for the betterment of socio-economic development of nation. Therefore, this study proposes to optimize green time at signalized intersection – Indira circle that can minimize the average vehicle delay. Traffic data has been collected for normal days and weekends, based on that microsimulation model is also developed. It is concluded that the optimized green phase timing can effectively reduce average vehicle and stop delays and will also help in improving the traffic capacity of that signalized intersection.
