Title

A Study on determination of fracture strength, fatigue life of bevel gear using alloy materials.

Abstract

The existing researches were based on determination of fracture strength, fatigue life of bevel gear using alloy materials. The mass of bevel gear can be reduced using optimization techniques of additive manufacturing. These techniques are lattice structure technique and topology optimization technique. The objective of current research is to investigate the application of lattice structure technique and topology optimization technique in reducing weight of bevel gear. The FEA is viable tool in determining structural characteristics of bevel gear under static loading conditions. The weight of bevel gear is minimized using lattice structure and topology optimization technique. With the development of newer materials and composites like Ceramic matrix composites, further strength improvement and vibration improvement needs to be investigated. As bevel gears are employed to high power transmission therefore the component also require investigation under dynamic loads (dynamic analysis).
