Title

CONCEPT OF WISE CITY: BASED ON EXISTING BARRIERS OF SMART CITY

Abstract

This study aims to improve quality of life by concept of “Wise City- glocal think tank”. The notion of wise city emerges from growing evidence that smartness is failing to create more inclusive, sustainable and democratic cities. The challenge is to design an urban model that is human centered and takes into account each city’s idiosyncrasy and cultural trajectory in order to avoid “one size fits all” approach. This conceptualization transcends and includes concepts that have gone before. Wise city concept can help us align all interdisciplinary areas of study that take place in the complex ecosystem of cities, organizing a science of cities into a framework. People centered approach, resilience, techno-culture, trust-building, quadruple helix, experiential learning and broad identity are principles od wise city. In this new paradigm, local governments have the advantage of being closer to their citizen and, thus, of being aware of their problems much better than national governments. To influence United Nations – Sustainable Development Goals localization process, to engage citizens, especially the youth, in fostering greater visibility at social level, integrated and inclusive development and sustainability are guided by wise city.
