Abstract
In Kerala creating accessibility in drinking water availability is very important. In order to maintain the availability of water in adequate quality and quantity, the Government have introduced Centrally Sponsored, State sponsored and externally aided projects in the State. Water supply programmes were initiated and implemented even before the formation of the State. Jalanidhi is one among this kind, funded by World Bank, which was introduced in the State during 2001 with the main objective of assisting the Government of Kerala to improve the quality of Rural Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation.
