Title

Identifying Suitable Sites for Groundwater Recharge Using RS and GIS : A Review of 10 Research

Abstract

The remote sensing and geographic information system are the recent data acquisition and processing tools, which are used in many fields with easiness. The integration of the RS and GIS with AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), a multi-criteria decision-making technique, is very helpful to decision-makers for land suitability analysis. The main aim of this study is to create a base for collecting information and finding the proper procedure to draw a conclusion for identifying suitable sites for groundwater recharge. The methodology described in 10 research papers is understood to the furthest extent for knowing the current situation regarding the procedure for the study. The data collected by various researchers shows the latest version, source of the data and its availability to the people, which creates the space to carry out study for the identify suitable sites. This review paper describes the tools that may be used in the study, which is useful GIS software that makes an easy and economical way to perform this study. Finally, this review suggests that the RS, GIS and AHP techniques are feasible, economical and time-saving to handle the large data and perform recharge site suitability for a large area.
