synthesis and biological activities of (E)-N1-(((5-amino-2-hydroxylphenyl(4-methoxyphenyl)methyl) carbamothioyl -2-benzylidene-N3’-(((2-hydroxyphenyl)(4-methoxyphenyl)methyl)carbamothioyl)malonamide and E)-2-benzylidene-N1-(((2-hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)(4-methoxyphenyl)methyl)carbamothioyl)-N3-(((2-hydroxyphenyl)(4methoxyphenyl)methyl)carbamothioyl)malonamide derivatives are described. The novel chalcone derivatives were prepared by acid catalysed one-step condensation reaction. The newly synthesized chalcones compounds have been characterized by spectral data They were then evaluated for free radical scavenging activity.
