Title

Secure model based on cryptography for vehicle related IoT systems

Abstract

With all emerging technologies, one key role is played by IoT. Whether it is a simple IoT device at our homes or a IoT implementation connecting industrial machines to a server and thus to a single platform. With these advancements in this field now security of the data being communicated has become a big concern. Considering the applications of these devices, one aspect we have as a challenge is to secure them with low-to-mid processing power and the high-speed communication requirements. We are going to focus on vehicle related IoT systems and enhance the data communication security in these IoT devices with help of cryptographic algorithms. Every single second counts, and to make these communications safer we’d require a fast and safe algorithm to make sure the systems keep running the same way they currently function. When we consider using cryptography for these devices, we must make them light weight, and so we are going to consider various algorithms and see how we can implement them on these IoT devices by making minimal changes and with negligible difference in their performance. We are going to focus on vehicle automation systems and enhance the data communication security in these IoT devices with help of cryptographic algorithms. We will experiment with RSA, ECC, and a custom algorithm and derive how we can help these vehicle automation systems to protect data.
