Money plays a vital role in the life of people. In Economics, saving is equal to investment which is why investment needs to be financed from savings. If every individual person saves more, it enables the banks to lend more to firms for investment to expand the firm wider. It is an essential aspect of making wealth and making a financially stable and secure life in the future. The study of the saving behavior of rural households will facilitate the financial institutions and policymakers to address the saving restraints and plans. People were more conscious of their savings. Therefore, it is important to identify the savings behavior as people are more to spend rather than save. Saving behavior is a behavior that changes the lifestyle of households and boots their economy too. However, there is a lack of research on the determinants of factors affecting saving behavior. Thus, the purpose of the study was to identify the factors affecting saving behavior. In this paper, four determinants are identified which are as follows: Saving Behaviour, Saving Attribute, Saving Awareness, and Quality of Life. These 400 households from Udham Singh Nagar district have been selected randomly and cross-sectional primary data was collected by personal interview method and questionnaire method. The sampling procedure adopted was multi-stage sampling. The data obtained were analyzed using IBM-SPSS-statistic software which involves scale reliability, descriptive, and regression analysis. The result indicates that Saving attributes, Saving Awareness, and Quality of Life influence Saving Behavior. This study makes a contribution to the literature on saving behavior. The findings achieved in this study will be of interest to practitioners and academics concerned with money management skills in order to become financially independent in long term. Studying the determinant affecting the saving behavior of rural households would help to boost the economy of the rural and ultimately the country because a considerable part of national income comes from rural savings.
