Investment is a vital prerequisite necessary, by an individual in order to protect himself from the future predicaments an investor can encounter due to the lack of investment. This study makes an attempt to analyse the perception of investing individuals and will also be throwing a light on the awareness of the various investment avenues available and the various motives behind the investment activities. The diversification of the financial services sector has opened up a wide range of investment opportunities for the individual investor. Saving is the mantra that every investment advisor will recite. Savings are the difference between the amount the investor earns and the amount the investor spends. One reason could be that there are specific materials goals that they want to save for. The behaviour of Indian investors has changed drastically in the era of post-economic reforms in terms of investment activity, preferences in choosing different financial instruments, evaluation and analysis of investment paths.
